On Saturday, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee said on Breitbart News: “This president’s foreign policy is the most feckless in American history. It is so naive that he would trust the Iranians. By doing so, he will take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven. This is the most idiotic thing, this Iran deal. It should be rejected by both Democrats and Republicans in Congress and by the American people. I read the whole deal. We gave away the whole store. It’s got to be stopped.” For this bit of salient analysis Huckabee is being castigated by the Anti-Defamation League, most of the media, and the ruling elites of both political parties. For his part, Huckabee not only hasn’t backed down, he’s vigorously defending his position.
The media and the elite political class are apoplectic over Donald Trump’s statements. Some are just infuriated that he’s openly speaking about subjects that they don’t want to address, and some are simply too dim-witted to realize that, in the real world, when you hit someone, they’ll hit you back. Let’s try to look at the situation as dispassionately as possible.
This week Sen. Bernie Sanders and Gov. Martin O’Malley were both booed off the stage by members of the “Black Lives Matter” movement. O’Malley made the mistake of saying: “I know, I know… Let me talk a little bit… Black lives matter, white lives matter, all lives matter.” For members of the professionally aggrieved class of agitating Lefties, that is a big no-no. It doesn’t matter if you’re a dyed-in-the-wool Socialist, or a Liberal member of the Democratic party in good standing. When the new agitators show up and start chanting “Black Lives Matter!” You’re not allowed to agree that ALL lives matter. That’s just considered a micro-aggression. You’re not allowed (by their measurements) to minimize what they’re saying by expressing empathy towards everyone. It’s insufficient to imply that you’ll be striving to treat everyone the same, if elected. You’re supposed to show sympathy and support to their race exclusively, and their cause explicitly, or you’re just part of the racist system that’s keeping them down. We have been listening to the political elite of both parties publicly state that we need to “fix” our so-called broken immigration system. We are told that Republicans specifically, and candidates in general, must reach out and pander to the illegal alien population. We are told that we’re racist if we don’t accept the never-ending flow of illegal immigration. Most importantly, the political and media elites say that candidates for higher office will not receive the Hispanic vote unless they offer some sort of amnesty for the illegal migrants. I reject this notion as ill-informed racist nonsense.
I’ve been telling people for years now that the subject of gay marriage was decided the moment Massachusetts decided to legalize it. Any rational reading of the Full Faith and Credit clause of the Constitution tells us that once any single state issued marriage licenses to gay couples, the rest of the states would be required to recognize these contracts as valid. With same-sex marriage legal in 37 states, it was a legal inevitability that the Supreme Court would rule that gay marriages from one state had to be recognized by all the states.
